About Us

Al-Arkaan was started to address a need in the Muslim community: access to Islamic education. We aim to do this while addressing three points in particular.

1

CLEAR LEVELS

While the world of secular education has defined levels, such a structure doesn't exist for today's average Muslim, who is unable to commit to years of study, or go abroad.

We are attempting to build a roadmap that begins with foundational skills and knowledge. As our students complete introductory courses, they'll qualify for more advanced levels, and eventually opportunities at other institutions.

2

IN ENGLISH

Less than 20% of the Muslim population speaks Arabic. While we aim to introduce our students to Arabic, we realize learning a new language is a gradual process.

Our classes and teaching materials are in English, and include translations when appropriate. As students progress through levels, they will learn how to read, memorize vocabulary from the Qur'an, and begin learning basic Arabic grammar.

3

ALWAYS IMPROVe

While students are responsible for paying attention in class and completing assignments, we believe in doing our part to provide a quality learning experience.

We regularly assess how our students respond to different teaching styles and materials via their progress and assessment scores. We also make it a point to ask for feedback. This gives students a voice in helping us improve our courses for people who may have similar experiences or face similar struggles.
